Elina Roine
Elina ROINE was appointed to the position of Deputy Director General of EIB’s Operations Directorate (OPS) starting 1st of September 2024 and she continues to head the Operations Support Department in OPS, a role that she has held since December 2021. Before assuming her role as a Director, Elina established the Ops Climate Office for two years, championing the EIB’s transition to the EU Climate Bank.
Elina began her banking career at Nordea Group in Helsinki in risk management and then moved into international banking. In 2001, she joined the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) in London.
Elina holds a master’s degree in political sciences and economics from the University of Helsinki and a post-graduate master’s degree in advanced international studies from the Vienna School of International Studies.
