Dr. Henrique is Programme Lead for the Sustainable Manufacturing and Environmental Pollution (SMEP) Programme at UN Trade and Development (UNCTAD), directing a circular‑economy portfolio on materials innovation and trade policy. He has steered 27+ field projects and mapped plastic and non‑plastic substitute materials in international trade. A published economist (30+ papers and reports), he holds degrees from the University of São Paulo and Hochschule Bremen, a PhD from KTH, and completed postdoctoral research at Harvard examining international trade of recyclable materials.
