Karoline is a London-based materials researcher and jeweller. Working as a materials consultant for world-leading establishments in the design sectors, as well as Munich's materialscout. She delivers materials insights, inspiration & technical materials specialism to global brands, helping them to innovate with responsible materials and technologies. Alongside this Karoline makes jewellery through her brand H?ER?, exploring ecological futures through craft and materiality. Her ongoing project, Future Metals, investigates biotechnology as a regenerative method for 'mining' precious metals from local waste streams. Through jewellery, Karoline aims to propose radical innovations that offer alternatives to exploitative metal extraction. By collaborating with scientists, biologists, craftspeople and nature itself. She combines systems thinking with emerging technologies to develop circular metal solutions for jewellery and industries beyond.
