Stephanie Downs, CEO of Uncaged Innovations, holds more than 20 years of experience as a serial entrepreneur and over 13 years as an Advisory on animal material alternatives to the fashion and automotive industries. Stephanie is a serial entrepreneur, having launched and exited multiple businesses, including Good Dot, India's largest plant-based meat company. Stephanie also previously held a pivotal role in PETA, where her negotiations with Tesla led to Elon Musk's blanket adoption of alternative animal-free leather in its interiors. In 2020, Downs founded UNCAGED Innovations with co-founder and CTO Dr. Xiaokun Wang. UNCAGED Innovations is the world's first biomaterial company to create sustainable leather from grains at scale, and is currently developing prototypes for Jaguar Land Rover and global high fashion brands.
