Circular Design
As stricter global regulations accelerate demand for recycled content - driven by PPWR, Automotive ELV, and emerging requirements across toys, appliances, and other sectors -mechanically recycled r-PET is gaining momentum as a key pathway to lower emissions and improved circularity. This roundtable explores how mechanical r-PET is moving beyond packaging into automotive, industrial, and consumer applications, and whether it can meet today’s structural, safety, and functional design requirements. Industry experts will discuss performance, scalability, and environmental potential, while addressing persistent barriers such as feedstock purity and variability, regulatory constraints, economic viability, and cross-sector design challenges. The discussion will highlight where mechanical recycling outperforms alternative pathways and what innovations and collaborations are needed to unlock new applications and meet future regulatory and climate targets.
