Rethinking Materials wasn’t built to talk about change; it was built to make it happen. And on April 28-29, it delivered exactly that at the Hilton London Bankside.
From investor-facing technology showcases featuring breakthrough innovation; from seaweed-based dyes to CO₂-derived fibres; to eleven roundtables tackling everything from AI-led formulation to eliminating toxic coatings, the energy in the room was unmistakable: practical, honest, and action-focused.
Breakout sessions took on the hard realities – bridging biodegradable performance gaps, embedding AI into R&D workflows, and designing materials that truly work at industrial scale. Meanwhile, main-stage conversations brought together leaders from across global brands and institutions – including Unilever, PepsiCo, BMW Group, the European Commission, and the Ellen MacArthur Foundation – to confront uncomfortable truths and move beyond surface-level sustainability narratives.
The recurring theme across both days was clear: less performative sustainability, more action. Founders, investors, corporates, and policymakers showed up ready to engage, challenge, and collaborate.
